The Planning screen shows a forecast of material and product stock levels based on current inventory and planned operations. It helps you see in advance when and which items will run short, and lets you create a purchase, production run, or transfer directly from this screen.
Items with the nearest upcoming shortage are displayed first. Select the items you need and create a purchase or production run right from the table.
View modes
Planning works in two modes, switched using the View mode selector:
-
Summary — a compact table with aggregated metrics for each item: minimum, current stock, total planned change, lowest stock, maximum shortage, first shortage date. The full list of available columns is described below.
-
Timeline — an expanded table showing the forecasted stock level for each item on each date at the selected frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly). This lets you see how stock levels will change over time.
Filters
The top of the screen contains filters to narrow down the displayed data:
Search — text search by name, SKU, and other table fields.
View mode — switch between Summary and Timeline modes.
Frequency (Timeline mode only) — determines the time step for date columns in the table:
-
Daily — one column per day.
-
Weekly — one column per week.
-
Monthly — one column per month.
Display — which item types to show:
-
Materials and products — all items.
-
Materials — materials only.
-
Products — products only.
Storage location — filter by a specific storage location. If All locations is selected, data is aggregated across all storage locations.
Stock below minimum — filter to show only items whose stock level drops below the set minimum:
In Summary mode:
-
No — all items are shown.
-
Yes — only items with a shortage are shown.
In Timeline mode:
-
No — all items are shown.
-
On any date — items with a shortage on at least one date.
-
On a specific date — items with a shortage on the selected date.
Date (when On a specific date is selected) — choose a specific date to check for shortages.
Supplier — filter by supplier linked to a material.
Categories — filter by material and product categories. Multiple categories can be selected.
Any of selected categories (when more than one category is selected) — when enabled, items belonging to at least one of the selected categories are shown. When disabled, only items that belong to all selected categories at once are shown.
All filter settings are saved automatically and restored the next time you open the screen.
Creating operations from planning
One of the key features of this screen is the ability to create purchases, production runs, and transfers directly from the planning table. To do this, select one or more items using the checkboxes on the left side of the table. An action bar with buttons will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Creating a purchase
The Create purchase button is available for any selected items (materials and products).
Pre-filled fields:
-
Items — all selected items are added to the purchase. The quantity for each item is set to its maximum shortage (the difference between the minimum and the lowest forecasted stock level).
-
Supplier — if the selected items have linked suppliers, the supplier associated with the most selected items is automatically assigned.
-
Date — set to the first shortage date among the selected items. If none of the items have a forecasted shortage, today's date is used.
-
Storage location — if a specific storage location is selected in the filter, that location is used. Otherwise, the default storage location from settings is used.
Creating a production run
The Create production button is available only when all selected items are products.
Pre-filled fields:
-
Products — all selected products are added to the production run. The quantity for each product is set to its maximum shortage.
-
Date — set to the first shortage date among the selected items. If none of the items have a forecasted shortage, today's date is used.
-
Storage locations — the finished products location is taken from the current filter or from default settings.
Creating a transfer
The Create transfer button is available when selected items are of a single type — either all materials or all products.
Pre-filled fields:
-
Items — all selected items are added to the transfer. The quantity is set to the maximum shortage.
-
Date — set to the first shortage date among the selected items. If none of the items have a forecasted shortage, today's date is used.
-
Destination — if a specific storage location is selected in the filter, it is used as the To location. The From location must be selected manually.
Shortage indicator
A red dot next to a numeric value in the table indicates a shortage — it means the stock level in that cell is below the set minimum. Clicking the dot automatically enables the Stock below minimum filter to show only items with shortages (in Timeline mode — on a specific date).
Columns in Summary mode
The following columns are available in Summary mode:
-
Name — material or product name.
-
Image — item photo. Hover to see an enlarged preview.
-
SKU — item SKU.
-
Minimum — the set minimum stock level.
-
Current stock — actual stock level at the current moment. A red dot next to the value means stock is below the minimum.
-

-
Planned — total stock change from all planned operations with a due date of today or later. Click to see a breakdown by type.
-

-
Max shortage — maximum shortage below minimum, calculated across all planned dates.
-
First shortage date — the date when stock first drops below the minimum.
-
Days to shortage — the number of days until stock first drops below the minimum.

-
Highest stock — highest stock level across the entire planning horizon.
-
Lowest stock date — the date when the lowest stock level is reached.
-
Highest stock date — the date when the highest stock level is reached.
-
In production — quantity in work-in-progress production (relevant for products).
-
In delivery — quantity in planned purchases.
-
Categories — categories the item belongs to.
-
Storage location — storage location (displayed only when All locations is selected).
-
Suppliers — suppliers linked to the material.
The table is sorted by default so that items with the nearest shortage date appear first.
Columns in Timeline mode
In Timeline mode, the table contains:
Base columns (same as in Summary mode): Name, Image, SKU, Minimum, Current stock, Overdue, Categories, Storage location, Suppliers, Max shortage.
Date columns — for each period (day, week, or month), the forecasted stock level on that date is shown. Stock is calculated cumulatively: current stock + all planned operations up to and including that date. A red dot next to a value means the stock level will be below the minimum on that date.
Customize columns
The set and order of displayed columns can be customized. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen and select Customize columns. In the dialog that opens, you can enable or disable columns and change their order. Columns are configured separately for Summary and Timeline modes. In Timeline mode, date columns are always present and cannot be disabled.
