Storage locations are where your materials and products are kept.
Creation
To add a new storage location, go to “Other” — “Storage locations” and click the “Add” button.
When creating a storage location, you need to specify its name and determine which materials and products can be stored at this location. For both materials and products, the following storage options are available:
-
All — all materials or products will be visible at this location without exception
-
Selected categories — only materials or products from specified categories will be displayed
-
Selected materials or products — allows you to choose specific items to store at this location
-
None — this location will not be available for storing this type of item
Example
If you need a storage location only for finished products of a specific series, create a special category for products in this series. Then create a storage location where for materials select “None”, and for products specify the created category.
Setting Default Storage Locations
To configure which storage locations will be automatically specified when creating new purchases, sales, and production runs, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the storage locations screen and select “Default storage locations.”
Viewing Inventory Levels
After adding another storage location, a location selection field will appear in the materials and products sections. Select the desired location to view its inventory levels.
Display Features for Materials and Products
By default, the storage location will display those materials or products that were specified when the location was created.
If you create a purchase for a material to be delivered to a storage location where this material is not normally stored, the material will appear at that location. The same applies to products, as well as when creating transfers and production runs. If you create a sale or write-off for products from a storage location where they are not normally stored, they will also appear at the selected location, but with a negative inventory level.
In the materials and products sections, you can manually hide materials or products from a selected storage location if their inventory level is zero. To do this, select the items you want to hide and click the “Hide” button in the bottom context menu.
