Subassemblies are intermediate products used in creating other products. They allow you to organize multi-stage production by breaking down complex processes into simpler steps. If your production cycle consists of several stages, using subassemblies will make your workflow more efficient.
This feature is available on selected pricing plans and can be enabled in system settings.
Once enabled, you can include other products in a product's component list. This allows your production process to flow through multiple stages: Materials → Products → Products → ... → Products
Example
-
"Dough" subassembly:
-
Made from materials (flour, yeast, and other ingredients)
-
Set up as a separate product
-
Recommended: assign a "Subassembly" category for easier organization
-
-
Final product "Pie":
- Contains the subassembly (dough) and other materials (apples, potatoes, etc.)
This production organization allows you to:
-
Break down complex processes into logical stages
-
Track costs at each production stage
-
Flexibly manage your production process
