Production Statuses

Last updated on Jul 08, 2025

Production statuses help track manufacturing stages and automatically manage the movement of materials and finished products in inventory.

Default Production Statuses

By default, the system includes three main statuses:

Plan

Production is initially created with "Plan" status. Materials are not deducted and products are not added to inventory when production is in "Plan" status.

In Progress

When production moves to "In Progress" status, all materials used for this production run will be deducted from inventory. However, products will not be added yet.

Done

When production moves to "Completed" status, all manufactured products will be added to inventory.

Managing Statuses

How to Change Production Status

To change the production status, click on the status icon and select the desired status. Before changing the production status, you'll see a calculation of the inventory changes for materials and products.

Default Status for New Production

You can also change the default status for new production runs in Settings.

For example, if you set the default status for new production to “Done” in the settings, any new production will be created with “Done” status, used materials will be immediately deducted, and manufactured products will be added to inventory.

Custom Production Statuses

Custom statuses are available on the Professional plan:

  1. Go to Settings → Production Statuses

  2. Click "Edit", then "Add Status"

  3. Configure parameters:

    • Name (e.g., "Assembly", "Painting", "Quality Control")

    • Color for visual distinction

    • Icon for quick recognition

  4. Save changes

You can modify and delete existing statuses, and drag them to change the sequence in your workflow.

When deleting a status, the system will ask you to specify which status should replace the deleted status in existing production runs.

Renaming Statuses

Important! When changing the name of a production status, all existing production runs will remain in this status.

For example, if you rename the "Done" status to "Packaging", all your existing production runs in "Done" status will be displayed in "Packaging" status.

Inventory Update Rules

General Rules

These rules determine at which stage of the production process used materials, products, and resources are deducted from inventory, and when finished products are added to inventory. The following general rules are available for editing:

  • When to deduct used materials

  • When to deduct used products

  • When to deduct used resources

  • When to add manufactured products

General rules apply to all materials, products, and resources regardless of their category.

Conditional Rules

You can also add one or more conditional rules. Conditional rules allow you to configure detailed logic for different categories of materials, products, and resources.

For example, if you want only materials from the "Plastics" category to be deducted when transitioning to "Assembly" status, you can add a conditional rule:

  • Action: Deduct used materials

  • Categories: Plastics

  • When moving to status: Assembly

This means that when production transitions to "Assembly" status, only materials from the "Plastics" category will be deducted.

How General and Conditional Rules Work Together

  • General rules apply to all materials (products, resources) without exception

  • After a general rule triggers, all remaining materials (products, resources) are automatically deducted

  • Conditional rules only work up to the status specified in the general rule

For example, you have the following production statuses:

  • Plan

  • Assembly

  • Painting

  • Packaging

  • Completed

Rules:

  • General rule: deduct all materials when moving to "Painting" status

  • Conditional rule: deduct "Plastics" category materials when moving to "Assembly" status

Result:

  • When moving to "Assembly" status: only "Plastics" category materials are deducted

  • When moving to "Painting" status: ALL remaining materials are deducted

  • Conditional rules for material deduction cannot be created for "Painting", "Packaging", and "Completed" statuses
